Sectors
HVAC
The HVAC sector (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) more than ever represents the heart of a comfortable and energy-efficient building.
HVAC systems ensure an optimal indoor climate by precisely regulating temperature, air quality and humidity.
Airtightness and ventilation are the two essential pillars in meeting these challenges. With increasingly stringent sustainability requirements and growing technological complexity, this sector requires a high level of expertise, knowledge and proper execution.

Current certifications for your sector
Ventilation and indoor air quality
For ventilation, BCCA maintains a relationship with the sector that goes far beyond the simple verification of reports on ventilation installations. Through inspections within the framework of the EPB product database (www.epbd.be), we are also in contact with manufacturers and distributors—mainly of residential ventilation systems—and this for all components: adjustable air terminals, ventilation units and demand-controlled ventilation systems.
Ventilation in itself is not an objective; it is the means to ensure indoor air quality in buildings. Indoor air quality is one of the key aspects of a healthy indoor environment.
Airtightness
Recognised since 23 February 2022 as an organiser of a quality framework for airtightness testing, BCCA actively promotes this quality framework and monitors international developments through its membership of TAAC (TightVent Airtightness Associations Committee) and as a Gold Partner of TightVent, an initiative of the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre (AIVC).
This allows us to follow the revision of ISO 9972, the international standard for airtightness testing. Thanks to this quality framework, we have built up solid experience in on-site testing, which represents a valuable contribution to these platforms.
Benefits for your industry
Why certification by BCCA?
Thanks to ATG-E for demand-controlled ventilation systems, BCCA has been involved since the introduction of the first systems of this type on the Belgian market and has more than 10 years of experience in this field today. In demand-controlled ventilation systems, CO₂ detection is generally a key element, which enabled BCCA to closely follow the discussions on indoor air quality related to the spread of the coronavirus in 2021.
It is likely that, due to the increased attention paid to indoor air quality, new initiatives will emerge in which society will seek to rely on a third party to guarantee the reliability of indoor air quality.
BCCA therefore monitors these developments and, in collaboration with partners willing to engage in this area, is ready to reflect on and contribute to initiatives in this direction.
