QUALITY FRAMEWORKS
To guarantee quality
A quality framework is a process that examines, in a comprehensive manner, the different aspects (processes, products, people, etc.) of a certain domain in the construction sector.
Its objective? To guarantee the quality of the concerned domain.
To achieve this, several aspects of the process are made measurable and traceable.
There are currently quality frameworks for post-insulation of cavity walls.
Why a quality framework?
Why a quality framework?
All aspects of quality are brought together.
A quality framework combines, in a single system, different aspects:
- processes
- organisation
- products
- resources
- persons
The result? A significant improvement in risk management.
When to choose a quality framework?
When to choose a quality framework?
When to choose a quality framework?
- In support of public policies or in a legal framework
- Voluntary, at the request of certain sectors, based on consensus and to guarantee the quality
- By any party wishing to pursue quality enforcement in this way
After having proven to meet the requirements of the quality framework, a company can then by itself draw up a declaration of conformity about the executed work and hand it over to its customer.
Methodology of quality frameworks
The methodology depends on the process and the quality goals aimed for, but always consists of three phases.
Proactive phase
Ensure that the company carries out the process with suitable products, competent personnel, appropriate resources, a good organization, etc.
Main phase
The company executing the process uploads, for every construction site, into a central database data and documents regarding planning and execution of works.
Reactive phase
The companies concerned are monitored by BCCA through sampling, on-site inspections and/or desktop controls.
How does a quality framework come about?
The quality requirements of a process and its monitoring are established through consultation with the stakeholders from the sector.
Based on the quality framework, we organize training, examinations, certification, recognition, etc.
After initial recognition, on-site or desktop audits are conducted in accordance with the quality framework's rules. These audits are designed to verify compliance with the framework's requirements during the execution of your activities. Findings during these audits lead to concrete actions to improve quality and reliability.
